Ballet in Cinema Series at the Laemmle Theatres

This is a chance of a lifetime! You can go to these Laemmle Theatres and see these amazing ballets that may never come to the U.S., let alone L.A.

I am going to see Pharaoh's Daughter, Euegene Onegin, Stravinsky & The Ballet Russes. I Have always wanted to see The Wedding, choreographed by Bronislava Nijinska.

Donald McKayle: Born to Dance, Create & Teach

Me and Donnie

Dance Visions 2009: A Tribute to Donald McKayle was a awesome event from start to finish. It began with film images of Mckayle's enduring choreography throughout his career and the many dancers who gave meaning his words. Like two bookends McKayle's Games opened the UCI dance concert, and his new work Noir, was the finale. Like a fine collection of books from start to finish, each piece spoke proudly of what dance was and can be. Most striking was the the energy and artistry put forth by every young dancer who graced the stage, which is the gift to the audience and ultimate compliment to the choreographers.

Mes de los artes en Los Angeles

Collage Dance Theatre and HK Zamani are in residence at 7th and Figueroa for Arts Month. The project is named A Material World. They are inside, they are outside, they are suspended in air! This collaboration is not to be missed, besides it is free, well except for parking of course. Their last collaboration, The Entire World is a Narrow Bridge, was a tremendous success noted by Lewis Segal, then (grumble, grumble, now I'm really going to cancel my subscription) LA Times dance critic who is tough to make a good impression on!
